A
little work with the tin snips and some self drilling screws makes quick
work of it.

All
set for the battery to go back in - BUT WAIT! - isn't this a stupid
place for the battery to go, all the way in the back of a rear engined
(already heavy
in the back) car, on a piece of fairly unsupported sheetmetal?

It
just so happens that there is a big empty space in the very front of
this car (exactly
where the weight would do the most good), right in front
of the spare tire under that beautiful pointy nose. So it was off to
the local home improvement center for some 2 gauge (battery)
cable, and a couple of 3 conductor wires for our coming oil temp, oil
pressure, and voltage gauges. We also got a couple of steel fuel lines
for our future fuel injection upgrade and zip-tied them all together.
