The next item was the fuel sender.  We thought that the VDO sender was the same as the stock one. We were wrong - DOH!  This is the universal sender kit from VDO.

The tank depth is measured.

Sorry, terrible picture. The sender was adjusted for depth of our tank and dropped in. Well...not really. The float rod had to be installed first, the end of the sender housing, and then the two mated & tightened together.
