This
is a picture of the seat pan upside down. We cut the front adjustment
rail and center section of the front support bar and dropped them down
as far as they would go. We also cut down the back posts.

You
can see how much we cut off in this side-by-side comparison. I have
always thought VW seats were far too high and have done the same chop
job with the Audi seats installed in Phrankentruk.
In the case of Haifisch it was necessary just for us to fit in the car!

The tracks are actually raised a bit in the car so there's more room than it looks like for the webbed feet of the 3 ft. alien hitch hikers that these cars were apparently designed to haul around in the back seat. |
