We
rub-out the car with polishing compound and an electric buffer.
The transformation is astounding! Skye stops referring to the
car as "The Roach".
Dirt plugs fuel line on the way
to friends house to showoff car. Highest attainable speed falls
from 65 to 50, 40, and 30 mph before we barely limp into the
driveway. Luckily this friend has an air compressor to blow
out the fuel line. All light bulbs are replaced and electric
terminals are cleaned after slight altercation with police on
the way home.
0 to 60 mph runs are timed to establish a baseline for coming
performance improvement modifications. A scalding average 0-60
time of 21.07 seconds is recorded!

Cold
snap hits the south with temperatures into the 20's. Tracy whines
about driving with gloves and winter coat on and still being cold.
Air holes are hurriedly sealed and heater cable clamp is found
to have fallen off, eliminating heat on the drivers side of the
car. Skye berates Tracy on the importance of fully tightening
bolts while she crawls under the car with a new replacement. With
the heater cable fixed, winter driving is now just "refreshingly
cool." |
